What kind of problems can you treat?
Our first word is prevention. Preventing problems (very possible, easily),
rather than treating them (hardly, if possible). We suggest, that you don't wait for any problems.
We don't look at your child as a 'problem' either - we see the child.
Should we diagnose
any problem in his or her development,
we will not only manage
the problem itself,
but how it affects your child in a holistic approach.
But we do anwser the question you meant.
We professionally diagnose and manage the complete spectrum of development delays, disorders, disabilities including autism, asperger's syndrome, ADHD, dyslexia,
dysgraphia, dyscalculia — the entire alphabet.

Isn't language a problem?
Or services, the development course, and the documentation is only available in Hungarian.
This is why we suggest, that you hire a babysitter / caregiver / helper
to bring your child
to GEKKO and to explain everything
to you in your native language.
Skills development does work, even the development of speech and language, even though
we are not native English speakers. Your child can participate in the course, language will not
be an important barrier. We have worked successfuly with children
from all around the world.
-
Does it overload my child?
Some parents worry about education too early, overloading their child
with development, - instead of just having a good time. Although we do understand their concern,
there's absolutely no need to worry.
We make sure children have a fantastic time in GEKKO. They feel awesome after
the"skills workout": uplifted, both relaxed and energized.
They will have a good
appetite,
sleep well, and can't wait for next week to come again.
We are experts of child development, we know exactly how to work with children
at certain ages. In 4 children groups your child will receive individual attention
to guarantee
he or she is never bored, never overwhelmed.
We do not urge anything to happen, any skill to develop any sooner than normal.
Skills are developed slowly, from week-to-week in comfortable baby-steps,
providing a great experience and a lot of success to your child.
-
From what age can we start?
We work with children from birth to 14 year olds. Skills development is never too early,
in fact learning / the development of core skills start well before birth.
As soon as you feel comfortable to go outside (1-2 months),
you are welcome to GEKKO with your baby.
-
How often?
Once or twice a week. The normal course is 48 occasions, intensive is twice a week
(96 occasions) per year. The program is building up gradually, it's important that the child
comes weekly, same day, same hour every week. Missed occasions need to be rescheduled.
-
How long is one session?
60 minutes. We work 50 minutes with the children, the last 10 minutes is consultation with
the parents / caregivers. We explain (in simple to understand terms) what was happening,
and hand out the individual printed course plan. It includes "homework",
that the parent / caregiver should continue at home (not more than 10 minutes per day) until the next occasion.
-
Will I recognise the benefits on my child?
Absolutely. It doesn't happen overnight, but after 2-3 months you will see
improvement
in skills generally, and especially the areas we target to develop.
-
Does it make sense to sign up for a few months only?
Does it makes sense to do sports for a few months only?
We think, it does. It's best however to continue as long as it is very effective,
throughout early childhood, even supplementing school education.
-
Can I visit a lesson before signing up my child?
You can visit the playhouse for the screening to gain a personal experience about us.
You can see a lot of photos and information on our site to make a decision.
You can sign up without a long term obligation. Should you or your child not like the course,
you can just stop visiting, and you don't have to pay for the rest of the course.
You cannot however visit our courses as a guest. Visitors will not disturb the course of your child either. GEKKO Óbuda is our teaching institution, ECE teachers, university students may visit
the lessons, but they are carefully trained not to interfere
with the program.
-
Can I move to another playhouse?
Yes, you can continue the course in any other GEKKO playhouse. Documentation will be transfered to the new teacher, your pre-made payments will be valid in the new playhouse. Further payments will be done in the new playhouse.
-
Do you work with special needs children?
Yes. We are qualified and very happy to work with special needs children, including ASD's,
serious forms of ADHD, mental retardation, hearing-,
vision loss, social, - behavioral issues
and every other condition in which
special education can be competent to help.
We will provide integrated education, meaning that we will work with a child
with
vision loss
in
a normal child group. We don't only focus on the main problem,
but we are developing
all the skills that are required for the highest
quality of life,
including social skills.
